Sarah Portugal was crowned Miss Solano 2010 on Saturday November 7th, 2009 at the Bay Terrace Theater in Vallejo, CA. Sarah is a 23 year old graduate student at California State University, Sacramento working to obtain a Master’s degree in Education Studies.

Her platform, Inclusive Education, focuses on promoting an educational system in which all students, regardless of physical and learning disabilities, receive the best education possible through three components: diversification, cooperation, and individualization.

For her talent, Sarah wowed the audience with a classical piano piece by Isaac Albeniz entitled “Malaguena.” Through her performance, she displayed great stage presence and execution of her technical skills.

Sarah will be going on to compete at the Miss California 2010 competition in Fresno next July to represent Solano County. In the meantime, she will be actively involved in the community making appearances and promoting her platform.
